ROUTE 171 - Catford Delays up to 90 Minutes

Stanstead Road SE6

0840 hours Severe Delays now being recorded, LSTCC confirm Contractors have changed light phasings to increase westbound flow times

Contractors for Thames Water have been managing a collapsed sewer which is located in the near side
lane towards Catford Town Centre just before the Rail Bridge, they will be using three way temporary
traffic lights with single alternate line working, one head will be on Catford Hill, one on Stanstead Road
and the final one on Catford Road near the Rail Bridge, it was agreed to reduce the fourth set of lights
being used that the Stanstead Road Bus Stand would be closed and route 124 will be diverted.

LSTCC are actively monitoring the traffic in the area and have already been in contact with the Contractors to optimize the timing on the Temporary traffic signals.
Our Bus Disruption Hub is recording the delays and the Live Information desk is updating passengers.

Please use NOE SO17/ 3434 or ref 120 for your delays

UPDATE:

Delays were up to 190 minutes by 12:22 hrs (spoke to Ken at C/com who gave ref 317) for buses who went through to Catford Garage.  The one way system became gridlocked.  Service severely curtailed to Brockley Rise with 1 in 4 buses through to Catford Town Hall (20 to 40 min time loss to Town Hall) with buses either running light back to NX or Adelaide Ave/Brockley Rise.  Problem ongoing at 14:40 hrs although delays not just as bad with minimal time losss to Town Hall but one way system 30 plus.
